Sharon is passionate about making science both accessible and exciting for young readers—especially those from urban communities like the one where she grew up in Chicago, IL. After a surprising college personality test suggested she become a tomato farmer, Sharon discovered the world of food science—and it changed her life. A proud graduate of Purdue University’s College of Agriculture, Sharon earned her degree in Food Science and went on to work in the dairy and frozen food industries, focusing on food safety and product quality.
Today, she’s turning her real-world experience into fun and inspiring stories that introduce kids to the power of STEM, agriculture, and innovation. Her debut children’s book, A Food Science Sleepover, follows three curious girls who learn how food science can be creative, fun, and full of adventure. It’s a celebration of friendship, learning, and discovering unexpected passions. Sharon’s Mission To inspire the next generation of scientists, inventors, and food lovers—especially kids in underserved and underrepresented communities—to see themselves in the world of STEM and agriculture.
